Sio Tee Bakery Branding

I had the pleasure of adding life to my friend’s new bakery, he wanted some posters and some merchs as well, so we brainstormed and he came up with this “Sioti” character, which means “youngest brother” in Chinese, which is also the name of his bakery “Sio Tee” since it’s a reflection of himself since he’s the sioti in the family. He then wanted to include their family dogs in the picture, and let me compose each scenario. The bakery’s specialty is the steamed buns or what we Filipinos call “siopao”, hence it’s what Sioti is carrying all through out the images. This is the type of branding I always look forward of doing, simply creating characters, adding stories and scenarios to small business that just simply reflects the owner and his life.

The Logo was already designed by another designer, but wasn't done in Adobe illustrator, so I was asked to have it vectored and add some Chinese flavor to it, the owner wanted a border on the top and below edges that shows a common Chinese pattern, but instead of red, he wanted to go with emerald green, but emerald green somehow looks a bit desaturated, so I adjusted it a bit to look a bit more vivid.
